* Please note if you are installing any 3rd-party Music Packs along with graphics packs such as the High Resolution Pack, take note that EDuke32 loads add-on modules in alphabetical order out of the /autoload subfolder.  Music packs must be loaded last, after everything else.  To prevent any issues such as EDuke32 not using the proper music, please rename all Music packs to have the letter "x" or "z" as the first letter of the filename so they will be loaded last and enable the music to work properly.
For example:
Music pack is duke32_mus.zip, rename it to be xduke32_mus.zip.

Installing EDuke32

  1. Copy the contents of the DN3DINST or ATOMINST directory (especially DUKE3D.GRP and DUKE.RTS) off of your Duke Nukem 3D or Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition CD to a directory of your choosing on your hard disk.
  2. Download the latest version of EDuke32 (currently a development snapshot; try a nightly build for the latest improvements) and extract it to the directory you created in step 1.
  3. Run EDuke32! Running eduke32.exe will allow you to play the game, and mapster32.exe lets you create custom maps.
